My Obsession

obsession: n., an unhealthy and compulsive preoccupation with something or someone.

Ask anyone who knows me and they will tell you that this absolutely describes my relationship with AC Milan. Everywhere I go, I see red and black. Even when I dream, it’s in red and black. And when I wake up again, it’s only to watch my team play in the red and black.

The anticipation of a game is not just cerebral for me, there is an actual physical longing for kickoff, a hunger to watch my boys in red and black battle it out on the pitch. And when they hurt, I feel their pain. When they are happy, I am elated.

Regardless of where we sit in Serie A, or even whether or not we are in Serie A, my heart will be true to the Rossoneri. Win or lose, they are my team, and I support them just the same.

Over the years, I have probably experienced every emotion possible watching Milan, but it is the joy and beauty of the game that transcends all else for me. And I have to believe that I am not alone in my obsession.
