Today is a big holiday in Italy, nearly everyone is off work
and headed to the beach. Pippo gave the boys the day off, so I thought I might
kind of take the day off, too, especially since I live here at the beach. So Buon
Ferragosto and enjoy a beach themed post…

In ancient times, Ferragosto symbolized the end of the
harvest and was introduced by Emperor Augustus. The Catholic Church has its own
meaning for the day, but nowadays, it seems like everyone just uses it as an
excuse to hit the beach. So I’ll leave you with some images of our favorite
Milan people and their beach excursions this year as I step outside my door and
onto the sand…
