Virtus Verona 2, Milan Futuro 3: Together Again

Milan Futuro were finally all together again as they traveled to Verona, after having so many of their players miss the past two matches just to sit on the first team bench for Amorim, resulting in back-to-back draws. And with virtually a full-strength squad, they were able to take all three points, too, in their 3-2 win over Virtus Verona. A great way to kick off the month, and most importantly to be together again.

Both sides created chances early on, with Cappelletti forcing an early save in the 13th minute. But it was Virtus Verona who scored first, with a Cuel goal in the 18th minute. 1-0 Virtus Verona. Never fear, though, Navarro's boys have become incredibly resilient this season, and responded almost immediately, with Luca Menon scoring an incredible equalizer from distance in the 22nd minute. 1-1 all. In the 31st minute, Menon had another shot, but it was saved. Silvano Vos was shown a yellow card in the 42nd minute, and it was still 1-1 at halftime.

Asanji replaced Luca Menon at halftime, and in the 49th minute, Milan Futuro went ahead with a goal from Perera, assisted by Cappelletti. 2-1 Milan Futuro. Pagliei made it three for Milan from an Ossola free kick in the 73rd minute. 3-1 Milan Futuro. Virtus Verona pulled another one back, though, in the 77th minute, when Pittarella was left all alone, and beaten by Franchi. Now it was 3-2 Milan Futuro. But Navarro's side were able to hold on for the win. Brief highlights are available.

This was a great affirmation of what this side are capable of when they have their best players available. Now they have the second half of the Piacenza match to play on Wednesday, their final match in hand, to see if they can jump up the table.
