Buon Anno, Buona Fortuna

There is a song called “Buon Anno, Buona Fortuna,” which means basically “Happy New Year, Good Luck.” I can’t think of a more perfect greeting for Milan and Milan fans this year than that. While we are still fighting a bigger battle within the club, there have been sparks of hope amidst the disappointments, too. So Happy New Year, and Good Luck.

This seems to have been our luck for the past few years. I'd like to finally find that cookie.

If we can all survive the transfer window, and Galliani errs on the side of caution in all of the areas of spending, quality, quantity, and which positions he reinforces, then Milan really might have a shot at a European spot. But if he panics and overreacts yet again, then we’re all going to need a lot more alcohol.

That's exactly what I'm afraid of

The same goes for keeping Mihajlovic. The media is stirring up such a storm over a few words, but it does seem like Berluconi is desperate, using the words “disappointed” and “angry” multiple times. But I really believe in my heart of hearts that if we just leave Mihajlovic to his work and Silvio stops going into the opposition dressing rooms after games, he may just get the team where Berlusconi wants it to be.

The only fortune Milan fans can believe this year

As we enter 2016, I don’t know if I’m exactly optimistic, but I’m a little less pessimistic, and that has to count for something, right? It’s a new year, and Milan haven’t been mathematically relegated yet, so that’s something. And even with Boateng returning for some inexplicable reason and Montolivo probably being offered a three year contract for reasons no one will ever know, we’re still playing some young players, we’ve got Bacca and Bonaventura, and a coach who is not a Milan legend should management fire him, too. So Buon Anno, Buona Fortuna.

Have a very Happy New Year to all of my fellow Milan Obsessed fans!
